HOFFMAN ABORTING ESA PROGRAM
Representative Mark Finchem (R-Dist 11) is far from done with investigating how bureaucrats harass taxpayers to assert their power. Leftist shill Laurie Roberts, pseudo journalist with the failing rag the Arizona Repugnant, fails to understand the outcome of “slow-walking.” Or she gets it but does not care about the effect on children with special needs. Parents who are entitled to a state education program focused on special needs have been deprived and consequently dissuaded from using the very program designed for them. This may be cause for escalating this to the DOJ's Office of Civil Rights. The left has long sought to exclude parents from education decisions, all the while blaming them for poor student performance; this is just another example of how.
There are just under 250 F and D performing public schools in Arizona. It is clear that money is not the answer, since there are a few performing schools that receive the same amount of per student funding. This is a crisis of leadership, of people in positions of power who are incapable of developing a school system, running it efficiently, and educating children. It is time we provide parents with an escape hatch that will empower them to remove their children from a failing school and move them to a performing school. Backpack funding is one answer That will rightly place school funding in the hands of parents to make a choice about where their children will be educated.
It is interesting that the educational industrial complex in Arizona does not have a problem with open enrollment, which allows parents to move from one public school district to another, but they do have a problem with those same dollars going to another provider that may be private or parochial. The Blain Amendment notwithstanding, parents and students have every right to engage in the best educational offerings that drive the best educational outcomes for their circumstances.
As the evidence of mismanagement, misfeasance, malfeasance, and poorly designed processes mounts, no matter what the superintendent claims about under funding, it will reveal incompetence. Superintendent Hoffman has tried to deflect responsibility for her poor performance upon the legislature, but it is interesting to note that even the past superintendent, who also wanted more funding, was able to get the job done. Elections have consequences, and now 6500 children in the state of Arizona are experiencing the consequences of what adults should’ve seen coming.
Sincerely,
The Friendly Farmer

Please explain the title, "Hoffman Aborting ESA Program."  Have the horrible proposed changes to the Sex Ed program been tabled after being returned to the State Legislature for "tweaking?"

I think the author of the article is indicating that Hoffman is not cooperating with ESA parents and is undermining the program.

Regarding the Sex Ed curriculum, it will, in a nutshell, be an ongoing nightmare. Parents will likely have to deal with it on a local level and can expect very little accomodation from school adminstrators. It will be forced upon children no matter what you do.

Oops! Sorry, In a moment of brain-freeze, I confused ESA with CSE and hoped Hoffman had given up on it.

Hoffman is a crusader; she won't give up

I know this has been asked before--can we get rid of Hoffman?  I never get a real answer!!

The Superintendent can be recalled. Paperwork can be filed with Sec. of State after she has served six months.

You are welcome.  It will require getting lots of petition signatures. I wish you luck. If you do it, I will try to help you getting signatures.

There is a petition by a group called, 'Protect Arizona Children Petition.'  A petition  to the Arizona State Board of Education, state legislators, our governor, school boards and charter schools.  To ensure no instruction or materials, and sexuality ed. be given to children in Az. schools.  See video at StopCSE.org.  Harry could you put this on your web.site?
