Great work Harry! I am forwarding this link to Kelly from the Greater Phoenix Tea Party group who just sent an inquiry to TAIB!

I must have missed the threads that disclosed what IB actually stands for. Sorry to reveal some ignorance here, but what does IB stand for? I see Merrianne is a member, and the focus came from the Education coalition. So my by guesstimate, IB might stand for "internal bureaucracy". If not, it certainly could. :)

It stands for International Baccalaureate, a lovely educational system promoted by the U.N. If you put IB in the Search box up top, you'll find a lot of info. Congratulations on getting your signatures in!! Great job!

There is a website called TruthAboutIB.com. Invaluable info. The U.N. is trying to take over our country by indoctrinating our kids. I didn't know anything about it, either, until TJ asked for help with the Mesa School Board earlier this year. That's what got me started down this road.

I first heard about IB when my daughter was registering for high school. I was very disappointed that the Gov. Brd did not approve the program at that time. I did a lot of research into IB since that time and have always been VERY thankful that my daughter did not end up in the program. Just prior to my taking my seat on our Gov. Brd the Board approved the IB program for one of our high schools - Ironwood. I'm hoping that we can eliminate it under the current budget crisis. It is amazing to me how many parents - good conservative parents - have no clue the true intentions and goals of this program. NOTHING in this program is under the control of your elected officials on your local school board. I have a friend who has done an incredible job researching IB. She released a report on the program. If you would like a copy please contact me at ElectDianeDouglas@cox.net.

Our Mesa district school board just INCREASED property taxes to pay for pet projects in the district, even though cancelling IB was mentioned as a way to save money. This program has infiltrated and infiltrated HARD; the principal of the Hendrix school proudly boasting that they are an IB school. Thank goodness another district had a space for my child.

I got the following information from someone who needs to remain anonymous, but I found it very interesting and wanted to pass it along. Some of it you may already know, but it never hurts to reinforce our knowledge or have it phrased a different way.

"Two of the best places to get solid information on the schools in general and the International Baccalaureate Program in particular are these websites:

Eagle Forum
http://www.eagleforum.org/

Edwatch
http://www.edwatch.org/

Both of these websites have articles on International Baccalaureate. Also, it's very important to understand the basis for wanting to make children into "citizens of the world" -- one of the stated goals of the International Baccalaureate program. That is, the goal of making them "citizens of the world" as opposed to "Americans." That is the real heart of the matter.

According to socialist theory, a person should direct their loyalties to the leader, the party, the political philosophy. All other loyalties should be eliminated. Thus, there should be no loyalty to God, to family, or to country. Those loyalties have to be eliminated in a socialist world. That's why socialist governments attack religion, the traditional patriarchal family structure, and the preservation of nations with actual real borders. Erasing our borders, promoting nontraditional family lifestyles (gay marriage, feminism, etc.), and attacking religion and religious values all help to lay the foundation for a socialist government.

As the Soviet Union expanded their borders during the 20th century, they continuously tried to blend the nations they captured into a single nation. They tried to erase the cultures of the nations they captured. In schools, children were given the model of the "new Soviet man" -- a handsome, appealing, international figure who the children were expected to use as their role model. This "new Soviet man" was, of course, a total socialist in his outlook. The goal was to indoctrinate the children with this appealing, alluring model and turn them into good little socialists.

IB works the same way. The American culture is built on the ideas of independence, self-responsibility, rugged individualism, self-sufficiency, religious freedom and tolerance, and devotion to family. Our nation is based on self-government -- that power comes from the people and that the government has limited powers which were delegated to it by the people. We love our country because under our Constitution, these ideals are protected. IB seeks to erase the uniquely American aspects of our culture and breed good little socialists instead -- that is, good little socialists who will embrace the ideals of the United Nations, which is based on the state as the center of power with individuals as mere pawns of the state..

I would recommend that you order two books and a DVD from Edwatch:

America's Schools: the Battleground for Freedom, Fed Ed: The New Federal Curriculum, and How It's Enforced International Education -- Presentation to the Arizona State Senate in 2007 (DVD)

Also, be sure you have a copy of The Naked Communist by Cleon Skousen. It is a reference book that you will use over and over again. The best book I have found for understanding the basic principles of communism and socialism. Having an understanding of Communism -- and knowing the key differences between communism and our American Constitutional form of government -- will help you to recognize the bad aspects of the International Baccalaureate program."

TJ - I look forward to your presentation Tuesday.

I finally started reading FedEd: The New Federal Curriculum and How It's Being Enforced by Allen Quist. ARGHH!!! In 1994, 3 bills were signed into law by then President Bill Clinton. The net effect was that the federal government now had/has control over the curriculum in the schools - NEVER MIND the 10th Amendment! I have a case FedEd books and I believe EVERYONE in the EAC needs to read it. I will bring them to the next EAC meeting. Yours for $5. The "curriculum" is very similar to the IB, so while the IB is through the UN and very expensive and we're fighting it, the federal government is already teaching much of what the IB does! We HAVE to get the word out and TAKE BACK OUR SCHOOLS!!! .
