Planned Parenthood + Girl Scouts = Cookie Boycott?

It’s Girl Scout cookie time. Who can resist those adorable girls with their patch sewn vests as they sell Girl Scout cookies to help raise funds for their local troop? Girl Scout cookies are a tradition and an American pastime. However, in recent years the Girl Scout USA organization has seemed to stray from their oath “to serve God and country” and have moved progressively Left, politically, to promote reproductive rights and a pro-abortion agenda. National pro-life groups have joined together to promote Cookie Cott 2014, a boycott of Girl Scout cookie sales to inform about this ever-increasing pro-abortion indoctrination on America’s youngest females.

According to the Cookie Cott website, this boycott was formed after “the Girl Scouts recently endorsed pro-abortion politicians Wendy Davis and Kathleen Sebelius as worthy models for our children”. They are referring to a tweet by the Girl Scouts organization on December 18, 2013 linking to a Huffington Post segment that named Davis and Sebelius, as well as others, as “Incredible Women of 2013”. Wendy Davis is the Texas state senator that made headlines for filibustering a Texas abortion bill that would ban late-term abortions at 20 weeks of pregnancy. Kathleen Sebelius is the HHS secretary who has been known for her pro-abortion stance. She is also at the forefront of Obamacare’s HHS mandate in requiring companies to provide contraceptives and abortifacients in their healthcare plans.

This recent endorsement, although unofficial, of pro-abortion activists is just another example of why many families are choosing to walk away from the Girl Scout organization. Planned Parenthood, the number one provider of abortions in America, has been directly linked with Girl Scouts USA. According to the Girl Scout website, they deny this link. However, the evidence is overwhelming as to just how connected the organization is to Planned Parenthood. Local Scouts in Texas, California and New York have worked directly with Planned Parenthood groups and GSUSA is the largest member of the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts that have a working relationship with (surprise, surprise) the International Planned Parenthood Federation.

I don't buy girl scout cookies anymore - and this is why

I like to tell them I'd rather have my cookies without "abortion" in them.   Also, WALMART sells a somao type cookie cheaper, better tasting and all year round, no abortion included.
