National Council on Bible Curriculum in Public Schools

A program is underway to serve the public through educational efforts concerning a First Amendment right and religious freedom issue. This is to bring a state certified Bible course (elective) into the public high schools nationwide.

 

The curriculum for the program shows a concern to convey the content of the Bible as compared to literature and history. The program is concerned with education rather than indoctrination of students. The central approach of the class is simply to study the Bible as a foundation document of society, and that approach is altogether appropriate in a comprehensive program of secular education.

The world is watching to see if we will be motivated to impact our culture, to deal with the moral crises in our society, and reclaim our families and children.

To date, our Bible curriculum has been voted into 539 school districts (2,045 high schools) in 38 states. Over 265,000 students have already taken this course nationwide, on the high school campus, during school hours, for credit.

YAHOO! Arizona is one of the 38 states, so I wrote them to find out which schools it is in. We need to keep support this. How exciting!

Hi there. We've missed you!!! You can always go next week, assuming they meet weekly. We had a booth at the Stand With Arizona Rally at Diablo Stadium, and also had one at the Phoenix Rising rally last week. Sure was HOT! Talked to lots of people. Also, I am getting my petitions signed so I can run for Governing Board for the Mesa Unified School District #4. I hope we can get another tea party member to run as well. David Lane, the current president of the school board is running for re-election. Mike Hughes hasn't decided yet if he will run or not, at least that's what his office said last week. Should be interesting. Keep in touch!

This is a pretty interesting option. There would be elements that would protest this possibly, but it could always be brought up that there are other classes available in public schools that Christian tax payers don't feel comfortable seeing funded. My only worry would be WHO would be chosen to teach these classes on Bible study? What angle might that teacher have? In essence I'd love to have my kid in class that would teach her the historic and cultural aspects of the Bible(all the better to memorize it) but I would want to know how the teacher who does this views the Bible.

That's a very good point. If these classes are anything like our churches we might end up with a cross dressing Marxists teaching kids how BAD the Bible is! It never ends.
