Taking Back America By Taking Back Our Schools

Pro-Life Math Teacher Fired For Protesting Planned Parenthood Sex-Ed Materials

If you are looking for signs of a war on conservative values, look no further. Bill Diss, a math and technology teacher at Benson High School in Portland, Oregon, was fired this week for clashing with pro-choice group Planned Parenthood.

At a hearing by the Portland Public School Board, multiple students and coworkers testified to Diss’s exemplary teaching skills and his positive impact on the community. Then, through a suspiciously disguised vote, the board chose 6-1 to terminate him.

While the school insists that Diss was fired for his teaching performance and not his views on abortion, it is hard to believe that this is not a blatant case of targeting. It is certainly not the first time that the pro-life agenda has been thrust into our public schools:

  • At Roosevelt High School in Los Angeles, Planned Parenthood has its own on-campus medical clinic, where it provides medical assistance, contraceptives, pregnancy testing and STD testing free of charge.
  • Through a $4 million grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Planned Parenthood representatives, not teachers, have led sex education classes at schools in Salem, Oregon.
  • Obamacare greatly increases funding for abortion and even provides grants for establishing “School-Based Health Centers” similar to the Planned Parenthood-run one at Roosevelt High.

An impending Supreme Court case will take on a related topic next year when it decides whether the government has the right to force private companies to provide contraception coverage to employees. It will certainly have implications on Mr. Diss’s case, but it will not directly address the role of pro-abortion curriculum and services in public schools. I believe that will require a separate Supreme Court case before it will ever be resolved.

Public schools should show tolerance of Christian perspectives, just like they do atheist and Muslim perspectives. This type of politically correct censorship is getting worse by the day, and is being combined with more brazen political propaganda in our schools.

This article illustrates additional reasons to keep Planned Parenthood out of the Sex Ed curriculums in Tempe/Ahwatukee high schools, otherwise knows as TUHSD.  Once PP reaches its tentacles through the back door of curriculum, they will have complete access to the kids, administration, school board, teachers, and classrooms.

The TUHSD Wellness Committee will be so busy monitoring the lunchrooms to keep them free of Pepsi they won't have time to monitor the impending Planned Parenthood "Medical Clinics" for chemicals that are dispensed free of charge and without parent notification.  I wonder if parents are called if their child sneaks a Snickers bar onto campus?

Another brilliant marketing strategy by Planned Parenthood.

I read that. This article is more powerful than anything I can say.
