Huppenthal Request $1million to "Embrace" Illegal Kids

by seeingredaz

John Huppenthal, the wildly erratic state superintendent of public instruction, is requesting the federal government pony up $1 million for educating the illegal alien children being housed in Arizona. They are among the tens of thousands who have flooded into the United States from Central America.

On Wednesday, Huppenthal sent this letter to Obama’s education secretary Arne Duncan asking for the financial aid, which he calculates at the rate of 202 students x $5,082 per student.

"We want to be positioned to do the best job we can to embrace those children," he said during a press conference. "But, at the same time, we want to send a notice out that we expect to be compensated for those students.”

Huppenthal, who previously claimed conservative credentials as a candidate, has cozied up to Obama's educrat point man Arne Duncan. This press release from Huppenthal was from chummier times as the alleged Republican trumpeted the fact that he was escorting liberal Duncan around the state.

Instead of doing the job he was elected to do, Huppenthal has spent a great deal of his taxpayer paid work time posting anonymous, insulting comments on blogs ---- including Seeing Red AZ ---- first denying his actions and then giving a tearful apologetic press conference. Watch the CBS TV 5 coverage in which he admitted his actions.

Now, rather than protecting Arizona’s Constitutional requirement for local control of our district schools, Huppenthal is shamefully pushing policies intended to cede control of every facet of our education system to federal bureaucrats as he promotes the disastrous federal overreach once known as Common Core. Hoping Arizona’s citizens wouldn’t notice, Huppenthal and Gov. Jan Brewer conspired to rename the unpopular federal overreach which suddenly morphed into “Arizona’s College and Career Ready Standards.”

Conservative syndicated columnist, Michelle Malkin who has devoted the past two years to sounding the alarm on Common Core, supports Diane Douglas in Tuesday'sprimary election. Read her endorsement.
