Taking Back America By Taking Back Our Schools

East Valley Education Committee Meeting 3-22-10

EAST VALLEY EDUCATION ACTION COMMITTEE
REPORT FOR MARCH 22, 2010
IDENTIFYING ISSUES / FORMULATING SOLUTIONS

· Our most recent meeting of the EV Education Action Committee took place at the Village Inn in Mesa on Monday March 22 at 5:30. This was our best attended meeting so far and much ground was covered. State Senator John Huppenthal ( Dist 20) was in attendance. There were a number of new people to the group there including many teachers, parents and grandparents. They all brought their concerns and insights. Following here is a brief summary of the evening’s agenda.
Issues
· International Baccalaureate program and it’s undercurrent of UN related globalist indoctrination
· The New Global Citizens after school global socialist indoctrination program
· Normative testing scores and related disfunctionality
· Dumbing down of testing instruments
· Global socialist indoctrination on the university level – especially ASU and U of A
· La Raza and Communist Indoctrination in Tucson
· Charter schools as a very competitive option for AZ children K-12
· Curriculum challenges and the predominance of liberal bias in the classroom regardless of what text books are used
· Unions and their control over the school systems
· The broken system of funding for schools
· Quality vs. price of education
· Lack of critical thinking in the classroom

Solutions
· Senator Huppenthal has promised to work closely with us to improve the schools if he is elected as State Superintendent of Schools
· The education committee will work to propose real solutions to the stated issues and present them to local school boards, the State School Board and the Superintendent of schools
· Parents must get “educated” on the issues and get involved with their children’s teachers and school board members and HOLD THEIR FEET TO THE FIRE on these isssues
· Form education contingents with each TEA Party group
· Disseminate information throughout the community via conservative groups like the TEA Parties via their education contingents
· Get conservatives elected to school boards
· Fight for our 10th Amendment rights to stop the encroachment of federal and international interference of local education
· Speakers who specialize in the stated issues will speak to other conservative groups, like the TEA Party groups, in order to raise awareness of the issues of concern

Accomplishments
· The Mesa Red Mountain TEA Party Education Committee will be headed up by Merrianne Geisdorf. GO Merrianne!
Next Meeting
· Presentation of possible solutions to be followed by discussion
· Working on presentations to give to other conservative groups

I had a great time being there; it's so cool to be around others that feel the same way I do. Looking forward to the next.

I always get to the Red Mountain Tea Party late because I have another commitment earlier that night, but I will be glad to share information with the group. I didn't realize I was heading it up. There was someone else at the meeting Monday night who attends the Red Mountain Tea Party, but we didn't connect on Thursday. She and I need to get together about this.

Merrianne,
I believe that Kathy Bessler is also a Red Mountain Tea Party person. I said your heading up the committee because you are there. You can both head up the committee. I think that all we need to do is share information with other people and then invite them to join us - encourage them to be involved with their childrens education because, i don't need to tell you, there are a lot of dangerous at work in the school system. Until people show up in large numbers to demand some decent education for their children things won't get better. We are focused on childrens test scores when the real problem is the system is destroying their souls.

That's fine. :-) I do intend to share with everyone what I find, and yes, they are destroying their souls. In reading further about the book, it came out in 2008 and, of course, thise things have to have been going on a long time for all of these horror stories to come to light and be written about in a book. Fortunately, the authors offer actual steps we can take. I quickly glanced over them but I will read more it more carefully and finish the book, too. Kathy, if you read this, please give me a call. Thanks!
