Taking Back America By Taking Back Our Schools
Wes Harris 10-18-15
Dear Governor,
I but wonder who you have vetting the candidates you nominate for the various boards under your jurisdiction. This latest one leaves us wondering if you are really interested in controlling the runaway tuition increases in our publicly funded colleges and universities. Tuition has increased at alarming rates and the current Board of Regents does nothing to stem this growth. What makes you think that only academics are qualified to fill these seats? That's like the preverbal 'Fox in the Chicken Coop'. May I suggest that you reconsider this latest appointment and appoint an Arizona taxpayer that has no link to higher education? You may be surprised at the thoughtfulness that such an appointment will yield.
All the Best
Wes
Gov Doug Ducey Has Appointed Dr. Larry Penley to fill a recent vacancy on the Arizona Board of Regents. Penley brings four decades of experience in higher education to the Board. He is the former president of Colorado State University (August 2003-December 2008) as well as the Thunderbird School of Global Management (November 2012-December 2014). He also served as Dean of the W.P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University for more than 13 years. Prior to his service at ASU, Penley was an associate professor and associate dean at The University of Texas at San Antonio for a decade. He moved his family to Arizona 30 years ago.

That doesn't seem to make any sense doies it?
Not to pick on Dr. Penley as we have similar problems at our local universities, but it looks like he may tow the line in some areas:

The fact that Dr. Penley left such a bloated administration reveals he is a seasoned Educrat, and we have plenty of those in Arizona already.
They are all cut from the same piece of cloth; toilet paper
