Student campaigns to restore Pledge of Allegiance

For the first time in 40 years, high-school students in Arlington, Mass., are able to recite, in a school environment, those familiar words: "I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."

The opportunity to say the Pledge of Allegiance is the result of the work of Arlington High School senior Sean Harrington, who spent three years trying to get his town's… Continue

Big Government Back to School

Big Government Back to school by Sam Sorbo

This country was founded on the principle that God endowed human beings with equal rights (under the law), which is different and distinct from equality. We all experience a wonderful opportunity and great blessing to live in a country designed to reward more on merit than any other in history, but we denigrate that incredible distinction by promising… Continue

Common Core Standards For Public Schools: A Bad Idea

by Phyllis Schlafly September 17, 2010

The No Child Left Behind Act, which allowed states to set their own public school standards for "proficiency," is opposed and considered a failure by all factions in the education world. Therefore, we obviously should force all kids in every state to be held to uniform national standards of proficiency. Right? No; wrong. But that bad idea is being aggressively promoted by the Obama Administration. The mailed fist in the velvet glove is the… Continue
