The NEA's Latest Shenanigans
What does Diversity mean to you? Same-sex marriage? Building a giant mosque on the 9/11 spot in New York? Elena Kagan on the Supreme Court?
To the largest teachers union, the National Education Association (NEA), diversity means celebrating the anniversary of the Communist takeover of China by Mao Zedong. The NEA posted this on its websitecalendar as a Diversity Event for October 1.
Thankfully, we live in a wonderful era when parents, Tea…

Sen. Ron Gould, R-Lake Havasu City, said the issue goes beyond fairness. He said the current system allows school officials to hike taxes without provoking an outcry because homeowners bear only a part of the burden.
"If you believe in local control, the closer that you put the taxation, the closer to the spenders of those tax dollars that the collectors and the spenders are together, the better off it is for people, rather than having the state collect the money and then reimburse it in…

Howard Fischer, Capitol Media Services
Homeowners in a handful of school districts are in for a nasty surprise because of some changes state lawmakers made in education finance laws in the name of “fairness.”
A provision buried in the budget enacted earlier this year changes how the state calculates the rebate it provides to homeowners. The net result will be tax hikes on residents in the 2011-12…

LOS ANGELES – Next month's opening of the Robert F. Kennedy Community Schools will be auspicious for a reason other than its both storied and infamous history as the former Ambassador Hotel, where the Democratic presidential contender was assassinated in 1968.
With an eye-popping price tag of $578 million, it will mark the inauguration of the nation's most expensive public school ever.
The K-12 complex to house 4,200 students has raised eyebrows across the…

Dear Friends,
As a mother of two children in public school, I want our schools to provide a deep and high-quality education.
At a recent debate, I saw that my liberal opponent has a very different definition for the word education than I do:
McLean's definition of education: More money for unions and bureaucrats.
TERRI PROUD's definition of education: More learning and knowledge for our kids.
When Proposition 301 passed (Classroom Site Fund), it…

From Shane Stapley:
A belated reply:
I'm happy to report that we have successfully overcome the first obstacle in our campaign for Gilbert School Board membership. 670 signatures was the final count which is well over the goal of 600 signatures we were hoping to collect. A great many thanks to all those who volunteered and to those who went the extra mile and then some.
After the week of August 18th, I am hopeful that we will have a secured place on the ballot for the…

The Arizona Republic
A plan to switch how Arizona schools are evaluated by starting to use familiar letter grades is likely to give many schools report-card shock.
The aim of the change is to drive school improvement by making it easier to gauge exactly how well schools are doing. But a new way in which the evaluations will be figured is expected to produce more schools with low rankings.
As a result, the change isn't as…

Congratulations to Shane Stapley and Merrianne Geisdorf for collecting far in excess of the required signatures for getting on the ballot for becoming school board members. Merrianne is running for school board in the Mesa Unified School District and Shane is running for school board in the Gilbert Unified School District. Now it's time to GOTV for these solid conservatives!

Tea Partiers,
We all know that to truly affect change in America today, it's undeniable that we have to rescue our Youth from the propoganda that they're being force fed through our culture, the media and their schools.
Now, I'm aware that many of you Tea Partiers are High…

Notice: Current Year ADM compared to Budget Year ADM. There are almost 2,000 students less this year than last! How can they say there are drastic budget cuts? The amount budgeted for each student is almost the same!

"The only work of social theory written earlier than the last decade is The Communist Manifesto."
A growing number of American universities, including 79 of U.S. News & World Report's top 100 list, ask incoming freshman to read one book over the summer. The purpose, as expressed by Florida Southern College, is to promote "a shared intellectual experience" and "campus-wide…
