A viewer who is preparing to launch a blog about a school district asked us about how to set it up. As we responded to our viewer, we realized that other people might be considering the same thing. We love to share, so here’s information about how WestieConnect operates. We’ll also show you how Gilbert Public Schools (GPS) has made some institutional and managerial changes after information was placed in the…

Will TUHSD Superintendent Call Out David Schapira for "Half-Truths"?

The Tempe Union High School District Board and Superintendent circled the wagons at the May 7, 2014 meeting as they protected the Board and Sex Ed Committee members from any criticism.  Dr. Baca, the superintendent, implored the audience not to state half-truths and also made it clear he does not like the use of social media to report the District's activities.

A reporter from The Arizona Republic was at the meeting.  Channel 12 did a piece on its 10PM news and Luci Scott…

The Planned Parenthood Labyrinth in TUHSD

It has been three weeks since the infamous Planned Parenthood vote in Tempe Union High School District.  There is so much to share about what was said by individual Board and Committee members as well as how the actual "vote" went down.

I reallly don't know where to start, I feel I could write a book about that evening and it would definitely be referenced in the "mystery" section of the library if it were to be published.  Mysteries usually have a plot and eventually the…

We Knew the High School Students Weren't Reallly Planned Parenthood's Ultimate Goal

Back in January Tempe Union High School District entertained Ms. Vicki Hadd-Wissler, director of Planned Parenthood's educational arm, because the students "need a comprehensive sex ed curriculum".

As TUHSD and its Sex Ed committtee strategized how to allow PP in the district without upsetting the apple cart, Ms. Hadd-Wissler earned her paycheck while taking advantage of even younger kids in a nearby district:

Legal Follow Up to TUHSD Planned Parenthood Vote

Everyone, please share the following which is posted on Alliance Defending Freedom's website. This is a long letter, but important.

Is Planned Parenthood coming to EVIT?

Since Tempe Union High School's vote to adopt a Planned Parenthood (FLASH) sex ed curriculum last week, I sense this organization may affect more childrens' lives than just those in Tempe and Ahwatukee.

David Schapira, Tempe High School Board Member and captain of the Planned Parenthood Cheer Line, is also assistant superintendent at East Valley Institute of Technology.  EVIT has partnerships with the following districts:…

Ideas for a Well-Rounded Responsible Curriculum in TUHSD

One of the most common arguments we heard this spring during the TUHSD Sex Ed curriculum debate is kids are most likely going to have sex before they get married, thus, we adults should act responsibly and give them the proper information so they make good decisions.

Very well, let's apply that argument to other temptations.

It's nothing new that some kids try smoking before they turn 18, the age they are legally allowed to smoke.  The media and culture has been pretty good…
