The Race to the Top program is yet another federal scheme to bribe taxpayers with their own money. Unfortunately, state governments eager to receive handouts from Washington prefer to beg at the federal table for scraps rather than try to raise necessary monies directly. Nevertheless, the United States will not achieve educational excellence by…

The proposed Parental Rights Amendment will preserve the time-honored principles of parental rights in the actual text of the Constitution, just as the Bill of Rights preserves other fundamental rights.

Kayla Eland and Lindon Pronto are roommates at Pitzer College in California. They, along with students at a growing number of colleges and universities, are pioneering a new trend — coed roommates.

K-12 Children took a "field trip" on public school buses to the TEA Party on Friday at the Capitol and were handed professionally pre-printed protest signs by their teachers and told to stand out on the street to protest against the TEA Party. Hello? Is this a good way to spend our tax dollars? Is this a good way to treat our children? Is this the way we want our teachers to behave? This is a new low and that is getting harder to accomplish these days.

"While parents, schools, provinces and states across North America bicker about the democratic process of running public schools, forces are manipulating education from behind the scenes. Major international players are reshaping public education to suit their own self-serving agendas, without regard for the wants of parents and the welfare of their children. This video lecture documents how today's educational system dumb down kids… Continue

I did not write the following partial book review, but Christene did an excellent job! I have not finished it yet, but am appalled at what I HAVE read so far! She has accurately described what I have read so far. This was on the internet when I googled the book. Since there is advice on what we can do in Part 4 of the book, I will skip to that next so I can report to the next Education Committee Meeting.

Arizona's eighth-graders were in first grade when the No Child Left Behind Act became law, but, like the nation's eighth-graders, their average reading scores have stagnated since the act's debut in 2002, according to the latest annual "Nation's Report Card" results released Wednesday.
The state's eighth-graders remain 4 points behind the national average, placing Arizona 41st among states and the District of Columbia. Arizona's fourth-graders lag 10 points behind the national average,…

It might be interesting to at least get a reaction to the Christian prayer group idea from the school board. I can see it going by the way of "Separation of Church & State", but if God is being replaced by Mother Earth....

Don't know if this was an IB school but I bet the thought process is the same...
I gotta wonder about the mother, why she wasn't involved enough in her daughter's life to realize she was making dumb decisions, but the school completely overstepped it's function.

We will schedule our next meeting soon. In the mean time i would like for everyone to put into writing (A paragraph - or much more if you like) how you think we might solve the issues we discussed tonight. Pick one issue or several. Share your thoughts and insights. We can discuss each and fomulate our solutions.
Also, please think about preparing a 5 minute presentation that can be given to a local TEA Party group or shared so that other members can do likewise.
Thanks…

(The following is from a recent newsletter from Family Watch International)
As we noted in our first report from the UN Convention on the Status of Women (CSW) a couple of weeks ago, Family Watch was the first organization to report the stunning story of a highly sexually graphic booklet that was available at a parallel event held by the Girl Scouts of the U.S.A. called “Girls Only Workshop.” This story has created quite a stir in the U.S. and in other…
