Poetry Slam in Scottsdale, Arizona Schools is Not Poetry

by  on October 28, 2018 Not In Our SchoolsDorothy, we aren’t in Kansas anymore.  We can say the same about curriculum in public schools today.  When a school district offers extra activities and opportunities for learning, parents assume these will round out the subject matter and be of some value for the student as he moves through future educational endeavors.  In the current culture, this can…See More

I'm looking forward to seeing the good this committee can do to help get the problems out of the education department; wasteful spending, too heavy administration, get Christianity back into our history books, and the Word of God back into the classrooms.

Harry, thanks for the welcome.

We met at the tax meeting last week at Dwayne Farnsworth home. Thanks for letting me know about your website. I plan on attending the school board meeting Tuesday. This IB curriculum is dangerous to our country, and I believe the Race to the Top is part of Obama pushing IB's curriculum down these states throats who "win" the funds. Arizona should not touch federal funding with a 10 foot poll!

Thanks for the welcome Harry!
(Would have replied sooner, but somehow my ning profile was disabled soon after joining here.)
Glad to have found you through PhD in IB's TAIB website! I have grandchildren that started attending Frost Elem. and was surprised to learn about IB, particularly the PYP! Hopefully I can make a contribution in restoring our educational system.
Regards,
Daniel

Really? They don't know anything about IB? That is astonishing! Or is it that none of them believe IB is detrimental?

Hi Harry,
I added a couple rather long blogs. I'm not computer savvy to say the least and am now thinking these two blogs might have served better in the forum section? Should I still do that?

I'm an historyteacher recently retired from the gilbert district. I still teach as an adjunct professor at mcc. in thirty seven years I never used a textbook for anything other than ocaissional reference.I have seen first hand the flaws and failures of the american educational system and am anxious to share with anyone who is looking to seriously improve the state of public education in our country. I was something of a nonconformist in my teaching methods and accordind to most of my students and their parents, pretty successful. during a 3 year period from 1998 to 2001,I taught lessons by request at every school in our district at the direction of our superentendent.300 teachers requested my lessons for 60,000 students. I'd like to share my thoughts and ideas. thanks, glen frakes
