Taking Back America By Taking Back Our Schools

Another Government Arm Sends Kids to Planned Parenthood, This Time it’s Tucson Unified School District

Tucson Unified School District (TUSD) has been flirting with adding Planned Parenthood’s sex ed curriculum to its schools over the past year.  For now, the Sex Ed Committee is meeting and pondering what direction to go, as many parents spoke out against the abortion mill and Comprehensive Sex Ed back in June.  However, it seems the District has already included Planned Parenthood under its umbrella.

Teenage Parent High School is a TUSD school geared towards the needs of teen parents as they balance the challenges of being a parent with schoolwork.  These students’ needs and responsibilities are unique so the school is a good resource for them.  Many of them need a support system, but some of the references shared to them by Tucson Unified are head-scratchers.  We know that Planned Parenthood promotes sex, and sex produces babies, so TUSD has recommended Planned Parenthood to them.  Could this be so if a girl gets pregnant again Planned Parenthood can remind her how difficult life already is so an abortion can be her quick solution?

Here is page 13 of Teenage Parent Highs School’s student handbook:

The Arizona Legislature has worked to keep Planned Parenthood away from the state’s students.  Legislation mandating pro-life and adoption must take precedence over abortion in Arizona school curriculum has been the law since 2012.  There is no way sending students to Planned Parenthood cooperates with state law since Planned Parenthood must fill abortion quotas.

Let’s look at the very clear and direct text of SB 1009 from the 2012 Arizona Legislature.  Is Tucson Unified breaking this law?

If the Tucson Margaret Sanger Planned Parenthood has taken up adoption, good for them.  However, that is doubtful because the abortion quotas wouldn’t be met.

The second phone number in question from TAP’s student handbook links to a Pima County Health Clinic in Tucson.  The referral is called “Family Planning.”

When searching Pima County’s Health Department website on family planning, there is some questionable material.  There is no indication they provide surgical abortions, but they do provide “emergency contraception”, which is also abortion. The students in Tucson Unified who are receiving this pro-abortion material have already demonstrated they are pro-life.  Referring the students to Planned Parenthood and a government clinic which will provide them with abortion-inducing drugs sends a mixed message.  The school is encouraging the young parents for keeping their babies while at the same time indicating a child is a burden.  These students need a more caring, long-term counseling approach than a quick fix which will dog them in the future.

Finally, the referral to Teenage Outreach Pregnancy program is problematic.  It is great to help kids with their pregnancies and new babies, but the organization also promotes Comprehensive Sex Ed and the Office of Adolescent Health.  Both of these promote acceptance of teen sex.  Is this to perpetuate a situation so TOP can keep raising money?

March of Dimes is also listed as a TOPS partner.  This once-respected organization has come under fire in recent years for its promotion of abortion and selling baby body parts.  While Tucson’s Teen Outreach Pregnancy program may have good intentions, it has become involved in the abortion/sex ed/government web that is endangering our youth.

It is time Arizona’s SB 1009 is enforced, and it’s time those behind Tucson Unified’s student handbook do the right thing and rid it of dangerous and controversial information.
