Harry,

I know you guys are Arizona, but I want you to take a look at this personal attack by a candidate for NEVADA STATE SENATE on my friend John Eppolito who is standing up against the IB takeover of his schools:

http://www.tahoebonanza.co/article/20100503/NEWS/100509994/1061&...

It would make my day if a bunch of you Arizona patriots jumped into the comment section (pretending to be from Nevada) and blasted this commie scurge from here to kingdom come!

PhD in IB. What can we do to wake our people up? People refuse to believe that there are problems in their schools that they need to address. It's always somebody elses school that is the problem - NOT!

PhD in IB: Here are some facts that might help.

Thomas Sowell, senior fellow at the Hoover Institution at Stanford University, describes the IBDP(IB Diploma Programme) as a "kind of indoctrination" and "one of the endless series of fad programs that distract American public schools from real education in real subjects. Some schools in the United States have eliminated the IBDP due to budgetary reasons and low student participation. In Utah, funding for the IBDP was reduced from $300,000 to $100,000 after Senator Margaret Dayton objected to the program, stating, "I don't want to create 'world citizens' nearly as much as I want to help cultivate American citizens who function well in the world."

We, the taxpayers, are the ones who are funding the policy decisions of the U.S. Department of Education and our local school districts. We hear an awful lot about the need for accountability, but when it comes right down to it, where is the proof that this very expensive form of international education actually increases student achievement or turns around low-performing U.S. schools?

The answer is, there is no proof. A perfect example is the city of Chicago. In 1998, there was only one IB school. Under the leadership of Arne Duncan, our current head of the U.S. Department of Education, the number of public IB high schools in Chicago grew to 15, the most recent was authorized in February of 2009. Of the remaining 14, only ONE, Lincoln Park, met the NCLB benchmark of 62.5% in reading, but failed to meet the benchmark for science. It is vital that districts considering IB pay attention to the following stats: In 2001, only 27.2% of the students in Chicago's public high schools met or exceeded 11th Grade standards. In 2008, only 27.2% met or exceeded 11th Grade standards. When calculated separately, an abysmal 50% of the IB schools came in BELOW the 27.2% figure!

Thanks for that Merrianne! IB is obviously a bad program that has got to go!

Hi Merrianne,

Thanks! We have all of those facts listed on Truth About IB. IB supporters don't care about FACTS. They are emotional, ideological animals who will defend IB with their lives and lawyers, in other words, they are Liberals.

I am conferring with a reporter from The Constitutionalist Today out of Colorado who is doing a series of articles on IB. As soon as they are published, I will link them here!

Also, I was just contacted by a woman from Texas who is following the IB money. She just uncovered what appears to be a blatant conflict of interest by an Asst. Superintendent of Lubbock, TX schools claiming he works 20 hours a week for IBO.

We CAN get this UN organization out of American public schools, but we must gather large numbers to oppose it.

PhD in IB: Yes, I probably got many, if not all of those facts off of your website. However, when I read all of the comments at the link you asked us to check out, I didn't see any of that type of info, so I thought it might get the attention of one or two people. Even if they won't go to your site, if they see it right there in front of them, they might think for a second or two about it. You never know. I look forward to reading the series of articles you menitoned out of Colorado.

I love Peyton's site!! I couldn't find whether our district posted checks on line, I wonder if we could get that done?
Comment by PhD in IB on May 9, 2010 at 7:10am
Isn't she great? That check verification system is a taxpayer's dream! Peyton has a very Liberal friendly system to approach your district with it - if you want her e-mail address, just let me know. In 8 years, she has gone from 2 to 800 districts using the system!
